GoogleWe were staying at the Shack and it was exactly what we were searching for! Felt like a Swiss chalet with bbq outside and fireplace inside. Really cosy! We were in the area for some wine tasting and canola season. Hopefully we can be back for the apple season.
We truly had an amazing time at Galileo Farm! With breathtaking views, The apartment had everything we needed for a 3 night stay, indoor and outdoor fireplace, lots of privacy and ample space for our dogs to roam around without leash, The host was super accommodating with early check-in, space was clean and felt just at home.
We stayed in Coots Cottage for two days in June. I can’t wait to go back! It was so much better than expected, even though it was really cold outside, the fire place inside made it super cozy. The host is super friendly and always reachable. The is cottage equipped with all you could possibly need in a kitchen. They have a good security system so there’s absolutely nothing to worry about I can definitely see myself staying longer next time, our time on the farm was a highlight of my year ❤️
We stayed in Coots Cottage for 2 nights in April. We had a beautiful view of the dam. It's an open plan bedroom with kitchen as one room. Cute stoep outside. Separate little shower and toilet - views off the apple orchards. Big comfortable bed. Perfect 2 night getaway and just an hour's drive from Cape Town. Loved the walks on the farm and our furry friends loved it too. A generous bowl of fresh apples awaited us and teas and coffee as well as a carton of milk. Easy self check-in and out. It is a working farm but we found it restful and peaceful although you can hear the cars) trucks from Highlands road. We felt safe and secure. I loved the autumn colours. Would definitely love a stayover with our family.
We stayed in the shack, needed to get away to a quite and peaceful retreat after having major surgery with our boxer,what an awesome experience, the peace and quite we needed.The walks through the orchards down to the dam was a great experience, the hosts were so friendly and helpful. Sitting on the stoop looking out over the adjacent orchards we had the pleasure of having an owl eating a crab meters away from us ,we will definitely be back there Thanks for the hospitality

Stayed at Coots cottage on the edge of a bass dam. Indoor and outdoor braai. Cottage is well stocked with all necessities and has a comfortable king size bed.

The photos make Galileo Farm look far better than it is in person. It was liveable for 2 nights, but the cabin needs a lot of work done to it in order to justify the high price tag. Both sliding doors on either side of the house are visibly damaged from multiple attempted break-in attempts, not something you want to find out after you have paid thousands to stay 2 nights.

We stayed at the Fish Eagle Lodge. Absolutely stunning location! It was like watching a Lord of the Rings setting. A bird watches dream! Unfortunately the place needs a lot of TLC and pest control. Bats flying in the bedroom at night for all three nights we stayed there is the reason we won't return as we paid a premium to stay there. We reported the bat issue to Lisa. Two birds nests were destroyed for no reason related to the bat issue. The dam and boats also need some maintenance.
We stayed in the Lime room on the property.The room and patio was covered in a layer of dust. The shower was also really dirty, covered in sludge. To the point were we decided to rather just skip the shower. We also did not trust the hygiene of the braai equipment provided. Also not sure why they are advertising the rooms with WIFI as it's non-existent. Has a lot of potential, but general maintenance and cleanliness is lacking for the rate they are charging per night.

Sweetest wedding venue with such a lovely and accommodating host! We fit 60 people in The Shed comfortably, with some room left over for a dance floor. We loved that everything was in close proximity, and had the most perfect and cozy day.
Comfortable room with basic facilities. We stayed in the Lime room. Friends were in Fish Eagle cottage which had great views and stoep with braai area.
Pet friendly with a dam at your doorstep. Great walks. Fantastic staff.

Beautiful, peaceful views. It is a rustic villa, compact and cozy. If you are looking to get away from it all, this is the spot. The water comes straight from the mountain, so it is brown when a bath is run. The shower needed some tlc, and a couple of the pots were not very clean. It has everything you need with stunning little citrus trees perfectly placed for when you need a lemon or 2. Birds are chirping, and there is a lovely deck to watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee and watch the sunset with a cocktail.
We enjoyed our nights stay in the Lemon & the Lime rooms. It has everything you need. Great communication from the host.

Little boats all busted unfortunately. Dam overgrown with Lilly pads cannot fish properly. Really peaceful place. Lisa was very easy going. If the dam is cleaned up a little and some working row boats added, this place will be awesome!

Galileo Farm is a hidden Gem in the beautiful valley of Elgin. Wonderful friendly staff, beautiful views, cosy Cottages, dog friendly, quiet and peaceful surroundings, gorgeous venue for small weddings, birthdays and other functions. We had our wedding there recently and it was an amazing event and our guests all commented on how beautiful the farm and venue is and the calm and relaxed environment. We are so glad we picked Galileo Farm.
Had a small elopement wedding at the dam. Lisa is a very friendly, the farm is big and you feel like you alone on the farm with the privacy that they give you. Nice scenery, great break-away from city life..
